CCTV Guards Watch Rampant Shoplifting In Early Closing Target & Walgreen Stores
Target has now acknowledged that San Francisco is the only city in America where they will begin closing all six of their stores earlier than normal because of the city's rampant crime, particularly shoplifting and thefts.
The early closures of Target stores in San Francisco's downtown Financial District follow a similar move made by 7-Eleven and Walgreens locations throughout the city.
Walgreens has closed 17 stores there in the past five years due to rampant theft. Back in May, the company said that theft in their remaining SF stores is four times the average than the rest of America and spends 35 times more on security guards in the city than elsewhere.
The California Retailers Association announced this week that San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sacramento—are in the top 10 nationwide in terms of organized retail crimes.
